You Are the Woman—Clothed and Called

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” — Proverbs 31:25 (NIV)

Let’s Talk, Woman to Woman

There was a time when I didn’t like the Proverbs 31 woman. In fact—I’ll say it plainly—I resented her. She felt like a mirror I never measured up to. Too perfect. Too poised. Too put-together. Her days seemed choreographed with grace while mine were chaos and grace (on a good day).

I’d read Proverbs 31 and walk away discouraged. I couldn’t see myself in her. And because I couldn’t see myself, I started to reject her.

But I’ve grown. I’ve healed. And I’ve come to learn the truth:
I am the Proverbs 31 woman.
And so are you.

Proverbs 31:25 says, “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” But let’s unpack that:

  • Clothed means it's not something she earned, hustled for, or stitched together herself. It's what she's already wearing—a gift from God.

  • Strength is not just physical endurance. It’s inner resilience. It’s spiritual stamina. It’s the power of God enabling her to stand up, rise up, and show up.

  • Dignity speaks to honor and worth. It’s not based on status, beauty, or success. It’s the quiet confidence of knowing who you are in Christ.

  • And laughing at the days to come? That’s not about pretending everything’s perfect. It’s about walking into tomorrow without fear—because you trust the God who holds your future.

When you wake up tired but choose to pray anyway—you are her.
When you lead in excellence at work or serve quietly at home—you are her.
When you dare to dream again after disappointment—you are her.

You're not less-than her. You're not behind her. You are cut from the same royal cloth.

We wear strength not because we’re flawless, but because we’re filled.
We walk in dignity not because we have it all together, but because God holds us together.

When I began to see that I wasn’t meant to imitate her perfection, but to embody her identity, everything changed. I stopped striving and started receiving.

You, daughter of the King, are clothed in:

  • Praise – You carry a sound of victory and thanksgiving.

  • Boldness – You speak and move with heavenly authority.

  • Power – You have the Spirit of the Living God within you.

  • Might – You are more than capable. You are equipped and appointed.

  • Excellence – You bring quality and care to all you touch.

  • Beauty & Comeliness – You are His masterpiece, inside and out.

  • Righteousness – You are covered in Christ’s own goodness.

When we wear these garments, we don’t just look like her—we live like her. Not by our own might, but by God’s Spirit working through us.

We become Proverbs 31 in motion—birthing what God placed inside of us, for His glory.

Father, I thank You for clothing me—not in shame, fear, or lack—but in Your strength and dignity. Today I lay down every lie that says I am not enough and pick up the truth of who I am in You. Let me walk in boldness, clothed in praise, and covered in Your righteousness. Help me to see myself as You do: powerful, beautiful, capable, and called. I receive the mantle You’ve placed on me, and I will wear it well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You don’t need to try harder to become her. You already are her.

So go ahead—put on what God has given you.
Strength. Dignity. Righteousness. Joy.

And walk boldly into your calling with your head held high. You were made for this.

Be Blessed
