Divine Disruptions
Scripture: Acts 9:3–5 (NIV)
“As he neared Damascus… suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice…”
Disruptions don’t feel divine when they happen.
They feel like detours, like disappointments. But often, the very thing that interrupts your plans is the thing that aligns you with God’s.
Paul (then Saul) was on a mission that he thought was right. He was determined. Focused. Passionate.
But God stopped him—mid-stride—with a sudden, blinding light.
And in that moment, everything shifted.
I’ve had seasons like that. Maybe you have too. Where what you planned fell apart… and at first, all you could see was what you lost. But now? You realize God was redirecting your steps. Not to punish you—but to preserve you.
Sometimes divine disruption is the very proof that God’s hand is still guiding you.
Practical Application:
Reflect on one area of your life where something didn’t go as planned. What might God have been protecting or redirecting you from?
Begin to ask: “Lord, what are You doing in this disruption?” instead of “Why is this happening to me?”
Reframe what you’re calling a delay—ask God what He’s developing in the pause.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for loving me enough to interrupt me.
Help me not to resist Your redirection just because it catches me off guard.
Open my eyes to see the purpose in every divine disruption.
And even when I don’t understand the shift, help me to trust the One guiding it.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Be Blessed
