Hidden Builders
When You’re Building and It Feels Like Nothing’s Breaking Through
Scripture Focus: “By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark…” — Hebrews 11:7 (NIV)
Sometimes, walking out what God placed in your heart feels less like building a dream and more like building an ark—with no rain in sight.
You show up, you obey, you pour out your heart in devotionals, your time in prayer, your energy into vision—but when you look around, you don’t see the fruit you expected. Maybe a glimpse here. A testimony there. But nothing that matches the years, the tears, or the level of faith it’s taken to stay the course.
I know, because I’m there too.
There are days I feel like Noah must’ve felt—hammering wood while others questioned his obedience, building something massive while seeing nothing shift around him. And it’s not that I don’t believe God. I do. I’ve seen Him move. But lately… it’s been quiet. No major doors. No sudden breakthroughs. Just steady obedience in what feels like a hidden place.
And it’s hard when you pour into others—when you encourage them to keep going—and yet you feel stuck yourself. Like you're carrying everyone else's bucket while your own well feels dry. And if I'm honest, sometimes in my tired moments when my emotions get the better of me, I wonder if it's worth it.
But here’s what the Lord whispered to me recently:
“You're not stuck. Your hidden. You're planted. And planted things feel buried before they break through.”
Sometimes God hides us not to punish us—but to prepare us. Not to isolate us—but to incubate what’s sacred. And yes, I know it’s discouraging. Yes, I know you’re tired of faith with no visible fruit. But can I encourage you with this?
Noah didn’t build for results. He built out of reverence. Out of faith. Why?Because he trusted the God of the universe.
And that obedience? It saved a generation.
So don’t stop. Keep showing up. Even when it’s quiet. Even when no one claps. Even when the rain hasn’t come.
Because it will come. And when it does, it’ll find you already positioned.
Here's a Few Truths to Hold On To:
You’re not forgotten. You’re hidden—and there's a difference.
God's silence isn't rejection—it’s often refinement.
Obedience with no audience is still obedience.
Being poured out doesn’t mean you’re empty—it means you're being used.
The very thing you’re building in faith is watering someone else's hope. Even now.
Father,
You see the parts of my heart I don’t say out loud—the tired faith, the quiet disappointment, the ache of pouring out without seeing much come back. I trust You. But I need You to strengthen me again. Speak life to my dry places. Breathe fresh fire into my calling. Remind me why I started—and hold me until I see what You promised. Let me not grow weary in doing good, even in the unseen.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Speak This Over Yourself:
“I am not forgotten. I am not failing. I am not fruitless.
I am hidden, growing, and becoming.
And when the rain comes, it will find me faithful.”
Be Blessed
