Whether you are a farmer, or not, we all know that when you plant something – when you place seeds in the ground, you expect a harvest. It could be strawberries, carrots, money or faith – you’re expecting something!

Well, what most of us don’t realize, or, I should say, we understand it, but we haven’t coupled our minds around it; is the process it takes for that thing to go from being a seed to actually becoming what you plated. It’s the germination process.

God made everything of its own kind, so we should realize that all seeds germinate at different times; according to how God has purposed it.

What does the word germinate mean? To begin to grow or develop: to come into existence, begin. To produce to create.

Strawberries may take 12 weeks, whereas carrots may take several months [please note the growth time mentioned here is estimated] and faith, well faith can take days, weeks or even years! But this is where patience comes in.

Many times we as individuals or Believers in the Body of Christ want things to happen, and happen now. “God I’ve prayed, I’ve sowed my seed. Why is it taking so long? Why isn’t it happening now?!” You’re tired of waiting. Things seem like they are moving at a snails pace. You may become disheartened, discouraged, perhaps ready to call it quits and start over and do something else. But sometimes you have to “reseed your garden.”

As your garden grows with the seeds you’ve sowed, eventually there will be dry spots; brown spots. What are those spots? Spiritually speaking they are areas in your garden that didn’t get enough seeds when you first sowed.

What’s your garden?

Well it’s anything in your life you are sowing into and expecting favorable results. Your garden may be an unsaved spouse, a rebellious child, financial, emotional, or a physical challenge.

So you sowed; some took root and others didn’t. The ones that didn’t died and turned brown.

Here’s an example for you; you’ve decided to reseed your grass because it looks, well, miserable. You go out and purchase some grass seeds: You scatter the seeds, water it and till it. Well some of those seeds took root and you now have nice plush green grass you can walk through. But you’ve also notice there are some brown spots; bald spots. What happened? Well some of those seeds you scattered didn’t take root. So now you have to go back and plant more seeds, water it some more and till it again.

As God does His part in changing and maturing and belssing the seeds you sowed, you will have to continue to reseed; for eventually you will reap a bountiful harvest.

So, you may have to reseed with love; reseed with respect; reseed with peace; reseed with forgiveness; reseed with faith; reseed with kindness; and reseed with strength. As you reseed your garden gets fuller and fuller. The brown spots disappear and you can actually see the harvest coming to fruition.

Don’t give up now. The harvest is right around the corner.

Yes, it may be 2 months, 2 years or 20 years, but remember when God brings it to fruition you know he has worked out all the kinks and your harvest is now ready for you to reap – and enjoy.

Be Blessed!
