Return to Sender
The other day, an Amazon package showed up at my door—my name, my address, but absolutely no clue where it came from. No sender. No explanation. No way to return it. I even considered discarding it.
And as I stared at that package, the Holy Spirit nudged me: This is how some women treat their calling.
But unlike my mystery package, the calling on your life comes with a clear Sender.
You know exactly Who assigned it.
You know the why—even if the path feels blurry.
You’ve felt the tug, the confirmation, the stirring that refuses to let you settle.
Yet there are days…
Days when the weight is real.
Days when you whisper, “God, I didn’t ask for this.”
Days when you secretly imagine a life where you clock in, clock out, scroll, sleep, repeat—
No stretching.
No warfare.
No responsibility.
No vision to carry.
No mantle pressing on your shoulders.
There are moments you think,
“Maybe I wasn’t built for this.”
“Maybe You chose the wrong woman.”
“Maybe I should return this whole thing to You, God.”
I know that feeling.
Not once.
Many times.
And you’re not alone.
Moses felt the same weight.
The same exhaustion. The same desire to hand the assignment back. Like, nope, God you can have it back!
In Numbers 11:14–15, Moses cries out,
“I cannot carry all these people by myself; the burden is too heavy for me.”
This wasn’t a weak moment—it was an honest one. Moses was overwhelmed, tired, stretched beyond what felt possible.
But here is the truth that steadies us:
God never hands you a calling without giving you the capacity to grow into it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 reminds us “And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear…”
There is a process to purpose.
A pruning.
A refining.
A maturing that feels like pressure but produces gold.
Just like Joseph in the pit.
Just like Esther preparing for the throne room.
Just like Elijah hiding before he was revealed.
Your stretching is not punishment—it is preparation.
Your overwhelm doesn’t disqualify you—it develops you.
Your desire to quit doesn’t surprise God—He strengthens you.
So instead of returning the calling back to its Sender…
Open it.
Use it.
Lean into it.
Let God multiply it.
He entrusted it to you because He knew you could carry it with Him.
Hold on.
Keep building.
Keep showing up.
The weight you feel today will become the testimony others lean on tomorrow.
Be encouraged, and be strengthened.
You’re becoming the woman God always knew you were.
Prayer
Father, I bring my weary places before You today.
You see every moment when the calling feels heavy and the journey feels long. Strengthen my heart again. Remind me that You chose me on purpose and for a purpose. Help me lean into Your grace, not my own ability.
Refine me, mature me, shape me—until I look like the woman You had in mind when You placed this calling over my life.
Give me courage to open what You’ve entrusted to me and multiply it with faith, obedience, and endurance.
I trust You. I trust the process. And I choose to keep going.
In Jesus name, Amen.
Be Blessed,
Tereciah
