Sharpened for Purpose

I still remember my first mentor. She was a speaker at the church I attend and the moment she finished, I knew I had to connect with her! At the time, I was broke, depressed, and desperately seeking God’s direction—unsure of what to do or what steps to take.

But in faith, I stepped out (and there's a story behind that as well. I did mention I was broke didn't I?).

I allowed God to use her to shape me into the Woman of Purpose I am today. The journey wasn’t easy—it was hard, scary, exhilarating, and encouraging all at once! Yet through it all, I saw God’s hand guiding me, sharpening me, and preparing me for more than I ever imagined

That's been almost twenty years.  A mentor follows along with you encouraging you, guiding you, correcting you, praying for you, but they don't do the work for you. You and only you must want it bad enough to work for it.

Friend, you were never meant to walk this journey alone. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us that just as iron sharpens iron, we are called to uplift, refine, and strengthen one another. God places people in our lives to challenge us, encourage us, and help us grow into the women He’s called us to be. Don’t shy away from godly connections—embrace them!

Surround yourself with those who will sharpen your faith, call out your purpose, and remind you of the vision God has placed in your heart. Together, we become stronger, bolder, and unstoppable for His glory!
