Strength in Stillness

Scripture: Isaiah 30:15 (NIV)

“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.”

Let’s be honest, stillness is hard when you're used to producing.
When everything in the world says, “hustle harder,” “push more,” “stay visible,” the thought of resting feels… wrong.

But the Word says something different. It says strength isn’t found in running faster. It’s found in quietness and trust.

And what does that look like in real life?

Quietness looks like silencing the inner chatter that says you’re not doing enough.

It looks like unplugging from the noise, not rushing to post, respond, or perform.

It means making room to listen—not just to pray, but to actually hear God.
Trust looks like showing up without all the answers, obeying even when the outcome feels uncertain, and refusing to manipulate what only God can move.

It’s choosing peace over panic, surrender over strategy, and faith over frenzy.

Now, I need to be transparent with you. This is something I’m personally struggling with right now.

Being still feels foreign when you’re used to leading, building, pushing forward.

But God’s been gently convicting me: “Daughter, you don’t have to earn what I’ve already planned. Just rest in Me.”

And maybe, just like me, you’re being invited into a slower rhythm—not because you’re failing, but because God wants to fill you.
He doesn’t need your performance—He desires your presence.

Don't think of stillness as laziness. See it as spiritual alignment.
It’s trusting that God is working even when you're not moving.

And sometimes, sitting still is the most radical act of warfare you can offer—because it shows the enemy you’re not panicked, you’re planted.

Let's Reflect:

  • Where have I been running ahead of God out of fear?

  • What does quietness and trust need to look like in my day-to-day life this week?

  • Can I sit still long enough to hear what God’s actually saying?

Prayer:

Father,

I confess that stillness is hard for me. I’m so used to moving, building, and doing that I forget the strength You’ve promised in simply resting and trusting You.

Teach me how to be quiet—not just outwardly, but in my soul.
Silence the voices of fear, hurry, and striving, and help me tune in to the voice of Your Spirit.

Remind me that I don’t have to prove myself to be loved or productive to be chosen. May I find strength in Your presence, peace in Your pace, and confidence in Your timing.

I choose to be still and know that You are God.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Be Blessed
