When You Know What to Do...But Still Don't Move
Sis,
Can we talk for a moment?
Real quick, listen, you don’t lack vision, a desire, or lack a love for God.
Sometimes, yes sometimes… you're lacking movement.
It's not because you’re lazy. Lazy women don’t wrestle with conviction. Lazy women don’t feel the quiet weight of calling, but you do.
You’ve thought about the thing God placed in your heart; repeatedly. You’ve prayed about it. Over and over and over.
You’ve journaled about it. You’ve even told yourself, “I’m going to start.” And guess what? You meant it. Didn't you?
But the days pass, and the thing remains undone.
And somewhere inside, you feel it — that quiet tension between what you know what you should be doing and what you are doing.
James writes:
“Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.” — 4:17 (NIV)
When you read that verse how do you feel? Hopefully not shame. I placed it there as a reminder. It’s meant to wake you up.
Because when you know what God has asked of you and you keep delaying it, something begins to form inside you.
You start doubting and questioning whether you’re really capable.
You start feeling spiritually unsettled.
Why? Because calling that stays unexpressed creates friction in the soul.
Sometimes the real issue isn’t the task — it’s identity.
When God called Moses, he didn’t say no. Not outright.
He asked: “Who am I that I should go?” — Exodus 3:11
That question lives inside many Christian women of purpose.
You want to do what God placed in your heart. But part of you still sees yourself as the woman you used to be — not the woman God is asking you to become. And becoming is uncomfortable.
Sometimes it’s not fear of failure. Sometimes it’s fear of the weight.
In Matthew 25, the servant who buried his talent said something revealing. He said: “I was afraid.”
He didn’t waste the talent. He hid it. Are you hiding yours?
Some women of purpose do the same thing with what God entrusted to them. It's not because they don’t care. It's because completing the assignment would mean stepping into a level of responsibility they’re not sure they’re ready for.
And so they wait.
They prepare.
They think.
But they don’t move.
Here’s what you need to hear today.
You don’t need to feel completely ready. You need to be willing.
Ecclesiastes reminds us that “Whoever watches the wind will not plant.” —11:4 (NIV)
If you wait until every emotion settles, until every fear disappears, until every detail is clear… you will wait forever.
But obedience was never meant to start with perfect confidence. It starts with trust.
Christian woman of purpose the tension you're feeling is an invitation for you to trust God. He isn’t asking you to finish everything today.
He’s asking you to stop negotiating with the first step.
One move. One act of obedience. One decision to trust Him more than your hesitation.
Because the woman you’re becoming doesn’t appear after the work is finished.
She emerges while you move. (Did you get that? Deep huh?)
And maybe today… the most spiritual thing you can do is finally begin.
Be Blessed!
