Palm Sunday—Will You Still Obey When the Applause Fades?

“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” — Galatians 1:10 (NIV)

You started your journey with fire.

People clapped. They supported. They said, “Girl, you got this!” "Look at you!"

You felt good. Accomplished. Like, "yeah, I got this!"

And then… silence. No cheers, no pat on the back, no encouragement.

Now it’s just you, God, and the weight of the calling.

God gave you that dream, that calling, that assignment—not because it would be easy, but because He knew you were built for it.

You may have started strong, cheered on by others—friends, church family, social media followers, maybe even your spouse. But what do you do when their voices grow quiet? When encouragement turns to confusion? When celebration becomes silence?

Do you stop? Or do you keep going?

Palm Sunday teaches us something deeper than palm branches and hosannas—it teaches us what it costs to obey when the crowd changes its tune.

Jesus knew the cheers wouldn’t last. He rode in anyway. Not for applause, but for assignment.

And now, here you are—God has placed something in your heart.

A vision. A dream. A call to build, to speak, to start, to lead.

But sis… will you keep going when no one’s reposting, replying, or recognizing?

Will you still obey when the excitement fades and the road gets real?

It’s easy to walk in obedience when affirmation surrounds you. But true purpose? It’s tested in the quiet. In the stretch. In the space between “Hosanna” and the cross.

Woman of purpose, your calling isn’t contingent on claps. It’s secured by the voice of the One who called you in the first place.

So if you're questioning your next move because the applause has died down—remember: the cross is always louder than the crowd. Keep going. Keep building. Heaven is still watching, and your obedience still matters.

Pause & Reflect:

  • Am I seeking permission from people to pursue what God already approved?

  • What step of obedience am I avoiding because I feel unseen?

Prayer:Father, help me obey You even when the cheers stop. Remind me that You are my audience. Strengthen my heart to follow Your voice above every other sound.

Be blessed!
